St. John Bosco Volunteer Association (SJBVA)
Mission:
In the spirit of cooperation with the Catholic Salesian tradition of St. John Bosco School, we will share in its philosophy, goals, and act as a team by utilizing our talents and resources and empower our families with financial opportunities which serve to promote continuous growth in our Catholic School.
What the program offers:
- Any parent, relative or person associated with a child actively enrolled at St. John Bosco and whose funds raised, will be used for expenses associated with the child’s education at St. John Bosco.
- Any parent, relative or person associated with a 8th grade graduate child from St. John Bosco and whose funds raised will be used for expenses associated with the graduate 9th – 12th grade child’s education actively enrolled at a catholic high school in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Where SJBVA workers work:
- Aramark allows non-profit organizations to participate in their fund-raising program. The program involves working beverage and/or food concession stands at several venues in the San Antonio area.
- AT&T Center
- Alamodome
- Freeman Coliseum
- Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
- Aramark will pay SJBVA a commission from the sales of the booth worked.
- Upon receipt of funds from Aramark, the SJBVA will pay 95% of the earnings to the volunteers who worked that particular event (after any applicable fees.)
- Credit is given to those individuals who worked the event.
- A check will be written to the below pre-approved SJB affiliated unit on behalf of the person worked.
- Tuition for SJB students
- SJB extra-curricular activities such as CYO, booster club, registration fees, cheerleading, Scouts and school clubs.
- All Eagle Landing purchases: school supplies, uniforms and shoes, backpacks, etc.
How to get started:
- Sign Policy and procedure contract.
- Before working your first event, you must become:
- TABC certified to sell alcohol. The certification class costs $15.00.
- A food handling course (required for Verizon only). The cost is $18.00.
- Each volunteer must invest in the below:
- A black visor
- White polo shirt
- Long khaki pants (no shorts or capris unless working at Verizon)
